It takes a wonder woman to run a worldwide provider of systems integration solutions. As Executive Director of the Nordic Group and Chief Executive Officer of Nordic Flow Control, Miss Teo Ling Ling has been taking on the challenge for more than 21 years in marine and offshore valve remote control. She manages strategic marketing and business development for Nordic, and oversees its business development in mainland China.

Engineering and Management Powerhouse
Miss Teo has a formidable educational background which includes a diploma in Electrical Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic and a diploma in Sales and Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Singapore. She also took major studies in Management at the University of Western Sydney where she earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Her early professional engagements include being sales manager and being in charge of sales and business development at Tyco Flow Control for almost 10 years. In 2003, she joined the Nordic Group, where her engineering and management expertise served her in good stead with the company’s focus on maintenance, repair, overhaul, trading, precision engineering, scaffolding and insulation solutions.

She was appointed to Nordic’s board in 2010, and was re-elected three years later. Nordic subsidiary, Nordic Flow Control, welcomed her as its CEO in 2012. In a 2014 interview in that capacity with Energy Boardroom, Miss Teo discussed how Singapore-based Nordic Flow grew from being a tiny company with five people and two desks, into a fully integrated automation solutions provider listed at the SGX.

Going with the Flow
Under Miss Teo’s management, Nordic Flow has taken its place among Singapore’s best automation service companies, and continues to compete with the likes of Emerson Process Management. She places great emphasis on people and nurturing their development and working relationship.

In terms of the company’s structure and subsidiaries, Miss Teo states that Nordic Flow has established itself as a reliable solutions provider for over 100 offshore oil and gas clients in systems integration, MRO and trading, and precision engineering. The company has successfully penetrated the Chinese market by leveraging Singapore’s reputation as a provider of top-quality services.
