The Captain of His Ship
Mr. Ang Kok Leong graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. He then joined ASL Marine Holdings Ltd. on January 1, 1995 as a Marketing Executive in the shipbuilding division. He then went on to build a career in the company which spanned more than two decades.
Mr. Ang is currently the Executive Director of ASL Marine Holdings Ltd., a position he held since October 2002. He is the man responsible for developing marketing strategies, and identifying new businesses, markets and customers for Australia, East Malaysia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America.
Mr. Ang’s re-election to the board as director shows his strong stance in the business and the company. His business acumen is reflected in how he strategically manages their bustling drydocks in Singapore and Batam, Indonesia, and how he maneuvers logistical challenges met by the company for more efficient output particularly in ship repair.

As of the third quarter of 2016, ASL Marine Holdings Ltd revenues have increased by 27% to SGD 96.7M. Numbers show that the net income decreased by 69% to SGD 1.6M. Meanwhile, the Shipbuilding and Ship chartering segment raked in an increase of up to 27% (SGD 46M) and 41% (SGD 27.8M) respectively.

Mr. Ang’s trading activities include a purchase of 51,000 direct shares of ASL Marine Holdings Ltd at SGD0.31 on March 29, 2016. This was soon followed by a more recent purchase in December 20, 2016 of a whopping 24.28 million direct shares of the same company at SGD0.31. His portfolio reflects a total of 72.84 million direct shares, and 350.15 million deemed shares with a total of 67.22% as of December 20, 2016.
