Sophisticated Investor Profile: Yeung Kin Bond

Mr Sydney Yeung Kin Bond is not only a veteran in the precision engineering business but also one of the SGX’s prominent investors.

Mr. Yeung is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Giken Sakata (S) Limited and Group Chief Executive Director of GSS Energy Limited.

Prior to joining GSS Energy Limited, Mr. Yeung handled numerous management roles that cemented his reputation in the industry.

In 2011, he became an Independent Non-Executive Director of Ares Asia Limited, an investment holding company which is involved in coal trading.

His renowned affiliations did not stop there. At Global Strategic Events Pte Ltd, he served as Director. Global Strategic Events Pte Ltd is a media company which focuses on sponsoring and organizing Asia’s most prominent business forums and television programs.

A couple of years later, Mr. Yeung assumed the Independent Director position at China Gaoxian Fibre Fabric Holdings Ltd as well as the Non-Executive Non-Independent Director role for Giken Sakata Limited. Both China Gaoxian Fibre Fabric and Giken Sakata are investment companies. However, the former is involved in in the production of premium differentiated fine polyester yarn and warp knit fabric, while the latter is involved in the production of micro shafts and high precision components such as plastic injection moulding parts, as well as the assembly of mechanisms for computers and other electronic products.

In 2014, he assumed the Executive Director position for GSS Energy Limited. GSS Energy Limited is an investment holding company with interests and operations in oil extraction, marketing & sales as well as providing technological solutions for home and car audio entertainment, communication, computer, and office automation and medical industries.

Aside from being a top tier executive at GSS, Mr. Yeung is also a Director of Roots Capital Asia Limited, the Managing Director of Pioneer Capital Management, Inc., Managing Director at Pioneer Capital Management LLC, and a Member at Foundation of Rotary Clubs (Singapore) Ltd.

Mr. Yeung holds Bachelor of Science from Fordham University, New York City, United States.
